Leadership Team
Co-President: Erin Stewartson
Erin Stewartson is 2019-2020 ACI Co-President. She is a senior civil engineering major in the Geotechnical track minoring in Sustainability. She focuses on the administrative portion of the competition and the facilitating general body events. She has worked as a field and project engineer with Turner Construction Company and is currently a LSAMP Undergraduate Research Program Fellow working in the CEE Infrastructure Lab.
Co-President: Franco Aguilar
Franco is currently a senior civil engineer undergrad at the University of Maryland.
After transferring from Montgomery College back in 2017, he immediately became involved with both ASCE's Concrete Canoe team and the ACI student chapter. As he progressed in the undergraduate program, he realized the potential to improve his knowledge of concrete and its industry by participating in ACI student competitions. As this year's UMD-ACI Co-President, Franco's mission is to pique students' interest in the use of concrete and continue growing the student chapter.
Competition Chair: Fillipios Tzortzakakis
Filippos is a senior Structural Engineering student. He has previous experience in rehabilitation industry including concrete repair. He is responsible for aiding other student members in every aspect of each semester's ACI international competition.
Outreach Coordinator: Elliot Hefty
Elliot Hefty is a senior Geotechnical Civil Engineering major. He has interned at Schnabel Engineering and is set to graduate in May 2020. His job is to make sure everyone is up to date with events and is constantly marketing our content. He works with members in helping them get involved.
Treasurer: Deon Butler
Deon Butler is a Junior Civil Engineer focused on structural engineering. He has interned at GTA (Geo Technology Association). His job is managing team funding and leading competitions.
